Ingredients

1 pound fresh garden green beans

4 slices bacon

¼ cup onion

3 tablespoons vinegar

2 tablespoons water

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon pepper, to taste

Method

Simmer bean 20 minutes or until tender. Do not over cook. While beans are cooking, cut up bacon and lightly saute. Discard all but about 1/2 tablespoon of the bacon drippings. Add remaining ingredients to bacon and drippings and heat but do not boil. Drain cooked beans well. Toss with the bacon and vinegar mixture and serve hot. Can be reheated for 1 minute in the microwave.
