Makes two 9 inch crusts.

Mom’s recipes often state Crisco instead of just shortening. In her opinion, Crisco was the only shortening one should consider.

Ingredients

 3 cups sifted flour

 1 ¼ cups Crisco

 1 tablespoon sugar

 1 teaspoon salt

 1 teaspoon baking powder

 1 egg

 1 tablespoon vinegar

 4 tablespoons cold water

Method

Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Beat egg with other liquids and add to dry mixture. Blend with a pastry blender until it forms into a ball.
