Ingredients
1 cup mashed potatoes
2 packages yeast
1 cup water
1 cup milk
¾ cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup shortening
2 eggs
vanilla
7 cups flour
CUSTARD
1 quart cream
1 cup sugar
⅓ cup flour
6 eggs
dash salt
Method
1. Scald milk.
2. Add shortening, salt, sugar and water and potatoes.
3. When warm, add yeast, eggs, flour and vanilla.
4. Knead until smooth.
5. Grease, cover, let rise once, knead down.
6. Let rise to double and form into balls or roll dough and place in pie tins.
7. Fill with filling-fruit or custard.
8. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
9. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
Custard:
1. Mix thoroughly and simmer to thicken.
2. If you use fruit, put on before custard.
3. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
