Ingredients
CRUST
1 ¾ cups flour
¼ cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon, optional
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup+2 tablespoons butter
¼ cup water
FILLING
8 large apples
1 ⅔ cups sour cream
1 cup sugar
⅓ cup flour
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla
½ teaspoon salt
TOPPING
1 cup chopped nuts
½ cup flour
⅓ cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
pinch salt
½ cup butter, softened
Method
1. This makes a 10″ deep dish pie.
2. Make bottom crust “high fluted.”
3. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
4. Combine apples, sour cream, sugar, flour, egg, vanilla and salt.
5. Spoon into crust and bake for 10 minutes.
6. Reduce heat to 350 degrees.
7. Continue to bake for 40 minutes.
8. Spoon topping over pie and bake for 15 more minutes.
9. It’s delicious!!
