Aunt Ruth Ehlen’s recipe
Ingredients
¾ cup brown sugar
¾ cup white sugar
¼ cup shortening
2 sticks butter
1 cup raisins
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup coconut
2 eggs
2 ½ cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
Method
Grind raisins, coconut and oatmeal separately. Roll into balls. Flatten with glass
dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees.
