Ingredients
2 ½ cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon soda
½ cup butter
1 ½ cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons vanilla
¾ cup dates, cut up
¾ cup pecans
1. Sift together flour, salt and soda. In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar. Beat eggs into sugar mixture; stir in sour cream and vanilla. Stir in flour, salt and soda until well blended. Add dates and nuts. Chill dough.
2. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto baking sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until cookies are brown on edges. Frost as desired, but a buttercream is preferable.
Makes 3 dozen.
