I do remember this being excellent. She really refined this recipe during the Reile’s Acres years.

Ingredients

4 quarts tomatoes

3 cups onions

2 cups carrots

2 cups celery

1 ½ cups green pepper

1 teaspoon salt

herbs of your choice

Method

1. Cook at least 2 hours.

2. Press through sieve.

3. Process for 45 minutes in pint jars.

Mom added this note: herbs of your choice and in parentheses put bay leaf, basil,

oregano…  She probably just used what she had in the house.
