Ingredients

2 cups cubed ham

2 tablespoons butter

½ cup green pepper strips

¼ cup chopped onion

2 tablespoons flour

2 cups milk

4 cups cooked macaroni shells

1 cup cubed Jarlsberg cheese

1 cup chopped tomato

1 teaspoon dry mustard

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon pepper

½ cup shredded Jarlsberg cheese

Method

Brown ham in butter. Add green pepper and onion. Cook until tender. Add flour and

stir until smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat and gradually stir in milk. Cook,

stirring, until thickened and smooth. Add remaining ingredients and spoon into

buttered 2 quart baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Sprinkle

remaining 1/2 cup cheese around edge of baking dish. Bake 10 minutes longer.

Mom’s note: Swiss cheese can be substituted for the Jarlsberg.
