This recipe is one of two on a sheet of paper from a Methodist church in Millard, Nebraska.
I am sure it is one of the recipes Mom used when making those individual mints she served at showers and open houses. I remember making these and how time consuming the process was.
Ingredients
1 small potato
powdered sugar
flavoring
coloring
1 tablespoon butter
Method
1. Boil potato and mash. Add enough powdered sugar so it can be molded in
hands.
2. Divide and color and flavor as desired.
3. Roll into balls the size of a marble.
4. Roll into granulated sugar and press into mold.
5. Unmold at once on waxed paper.
6. Molds should be rinsed in warm water until clean.
7. They should not come in contact with grease or detergent.
Barb’s note: The person who typed this recipe spelled potato “potatoo” both times it is
entered. Is Dan Quayle from Nebraska?
