Ingredients

1 cup sugar

1 cup butter

3 tablespoons water

½ cup pecans, chopped

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 4 1/2 oz. milk chocolate bar, or 6 oz. choc. chips

Method

1. Combine sugar, butter and water in heavy saucepan.

2. Cook to hard crack stage or 300 degrees, stirring constantly.

3. Remove from heat.

4. Add vanilla.

5. Pour into buttered 9×9 inch pan.

6. Cool 5 minutes.

7. Break chocolate bar into pieces and spread on top or distribute chocolate chips

evenly.

8. Spread as chocolate melts.

9. Sprinkle finely chopped pecans on top.

10. Cool thoroughly.

11. Break into pieces.

Val’s note:

I used semi sweet chocolate chips. Walnuts can be used in place of pecans.
