Ingredients:
1 package frozen bread dough, 2 pounds
1 can cherry pie filling
1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
oil
Struessel Topping
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon butter, softened
Directions:
1. Thaw dough.
2. Place in lightly oiled bowl.
3. Cover and let rise until doubled, 1 1/2-2 hours.
4. Punch down, let rise 10 minutes.
5. Divide dough in half, roll each half to a 15″x13″ rectangle.
6. Spread cherry filling in a 2″ wide strip lengthwise down center of each rectangle.
7. Sprinkle with almonds.
8. Fold sides of dough over filling to form 15×4 rectangle.
9. Transfer to greased baking sheet.
10. Seal edges.
11. Make slashes across top at 2 inch intervals.
12. Brush with oil and top with streussel topping.
13. For topping:
14. Mix flour, sugar and butter until crunchy.
15. Then, let rise about 45 minutes.
16. Bake at 350 degress for 30-40 minutes.
