Sweet & Sour Meatball Appetizers
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 cup soft bread crumbs
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons minced onion
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon salt
- dash pepper
- ⅔ cup chili sauce
- ⅔ cup red currant or grape jelly
| Combine beef, bread crumbs, egg, onion, milk, garlic, salt and pepper. form mixture into 40 meatballs, using a rounded teaspoon for each. Brown meatballs lightly in oil. Cover; cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Drain. Combine chili sauce and jelly and pour over meatballs. Heat, stirring until jelly is melted. Simmer 10-12 minutes until sauce thickens; baste occasionally. |
